I hope your burdens are light and your spirits are high!
Your pic reminds me to relax and just hang out.
We can learn a lot from our pets, can’t we? 🙂
Hi Joanne! How is Theo feeling these days? Everything still up to snuff?
Hi Barbara! He’s back to being a little ‘terrorist’ again 😉
Are you still in the sun and warmth?
Oh good, I’m so glad he’s feeling better. We are home – arrived to frozen and broken pipes – dash it to bits, I’m ready for a loft in the city.
OH NO! That’s very bad news. Hope the damage isn’t too bad … but I guess you’ve been without water 😦
It wasn’t a fun homecoming, Joanne, but it’s all fixed and I’m getting caught up now! Can this winter be over NOW please?
I KNOW!!!! At least spring will come to you earlier than it will here.
Glad to hear that life is back to normal. Frozen pipes have been a big issue here this month. This has been the coldest February on record and there have been many watermains that have frozen. Neighbourhoods have been without water for days. It was front page news this morning 😦
Do you remember my post about choosing your “luxury.” Yah, well, RUNNING WATER is my luxury now. And what part of the brain is it that causes you to continuously turn on the water faucet when you know your pipes are frozen? Just like when the power goes out and you keep flipping on the lights? ARRGGHHH. p.s. finished “The Color of Magic” in Florida. You?
HAHAHA! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who does that. During last year’s ice storm when we lost power for 3 days, I kept trying to turn on lights. Drove me crazy!
This seals it… I really want to be a cat 🙂 (My cat is stretched out on my lap right now. I need to go to the bathroom but I don’t want to disturb her… how messed up is that?!)
hahahaha! I wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve had Theo on my lap and I didn’t move so I wouldn’t disturb him!! We are soooo well trained by our masters 😉
I WANT ONE OF THESE DAYS!
I so hope my next life will be that of a cat.
All the naps one could possibly desire and the joint flexibility of a freshly cooked pasta.
LOL! … it seems they manage to reach an almost liquid state 🙂
I’m looking at a very similar scene at the end of my couch right now!
They know how to deal with this winter 🙂

That was me on the couch today after running 10km in the middle of a 36C day. Leo was unamused when he wanted his spot and my feet were in the way. Theo looks comfy.
OMG – I would have completely melted somewhere around the 4k mark.
I’m sending you cold, frigid thoughts from our arctic winter. Hopefully it will help cool you down 🙂
It was dumb, running in that heat. At the 8km mark I wondered how long it would be before someone found me if I had a heart attack. There weren’t too many other idiots out there. 😵
hahaha! My normal running route passes by a hospital and there is a fire station nearby so there are usually ambulances and fire trucks in the vicinity. I think of them as my backup support 🙂
Love the photo and yes having a great day
Great! Keep up the good work! 😉
Love it! I’m reading blogs with one of the farm cats snoozing on my lap – I’m coming back as a cat 🙂
Me too!! A pampered, spoiled furball 🙂
Contentment on a very cozy couch!!
We can learn a lot from cats! 🙂
What a great picture to share with all of those who have frigid temperatures…just looking at Theo warms you up! 😀
I’m glad it wasn’t just me who thought so 🙂 A nap with a warm blanket on a cold winter’s afternoon is so decadent!!
Who knew that naps would be so enjoyable!
I’ve taken enough of my own to know exactly how much so!
Me too! 😀 😀
This is too cute and his blanket too soft. Envious me,
I like pampering my kitties. They are nice to me and I believe like me. ❤ ❤
I’m sure they love you as much as you love them!! … especially at food time 😉
Right. N.e.v.e.r bite the hand that feeds you, especially while she’s doing it. 😀 😀 😀
Theo not an idiot … he would never do that!! In his excitement, he might however head butt me 😉
Is there anything funnier than an excited cat at feeding time?!
Ha ha ha. That is the truth!
Looks like he has the best seat in the house!
He’s a pampered baby 🙂
Theo looks way too comfortable Joanne 🙂 I think it’s time you gave him some chores like cleaning his own litter box or taking out the garbage 🙂
… as soon as I finish training him not to lay on my laptop while I’m trying to use it 😉
Nice life! I want to be Theo when I grow up.
Stand in line! … I’m next 🙂
Hi diddly deeeee… a cat’s life for me!
Our furry companions have it made don’t they? And they seem to know it, too!
That’s the truth! My husband calls Theo ‘bossy’. He’s a demanding furball and knows he has us wrapped around his paw 🙂
In my home the four legged ones have us mere humans particularly well trained as doormen and waiters 🙂
… and we thought they were harmless and loveable little furballs. They’ve cleverly managed to enslave us to their every whim 😉
Good thing they cover up their plot by being so adorably indispensable in our lives 🙂
I want to be Theo when I grow up…pampered cat with a couch, a blankie and a cool mom.
His life would definitely not be hard to take 🙂
Your kitty looks so very happy and content! The life of our pets…we should be so lucky!!
I know!! I want to come back as a pampered cat 🙂
Contented bliss! A day in the life our feline friends. Makes you want to just curl up beside him for a snuggle!
I know!! Instead I’m sitting here sipping hot apple cider. Not too shabby 😉
Sounds lovely! Did you get any of that crazy snowfall this morning? We, to the east, received about 15cm! It created havoc with traffic but it looks oh so pretty!
I’m in Scarborough and we just got a dusting of snow. Nothing significant at all.
I’m just as happy that you got it all 🙂
Joanne…Ahhh the comforts of home! I love the photo, great composition…lovely decorations! Hope the Arctic weather is over soon! Christine
Thanks Christine – surely this polar weather can’t continue much longer! I think bears have it right and hibernating through it all!!
Well, if they hadn’t been before seeing that, it would certainly have lifted ’em, JS !!!
GORGEOUS !!! 😀
I thought you might like a picture of a cute furry one to start your day 😉
No ‘might’ about it, Joanne ! – I ADORE photos like that ! 😀
What I liked was the fact I couldn’t tell where Theo ended and the blanket began. He seems to have just melted into it 🙂
Took me a while, too: I thought to meself “I believe I know why that particular blanket was purchased …”
Actually he’s only shown interest in it over the last couple of weeks since it got REALLY cold outside.
Last weekend was -40C with the windchill. I might have been born and raised in the North, but I’d forgotten how brutally cold that is.
I shall never know it, and I can’t say I’m sorry …
This looks like a great day!
It is if you are a spoiled kitty 🙂
I must confess, sometimes, I am! 🙂
Aren’t we all? 😉
Looks about right to me 😉
I think he’s got the laid-back mode just about perfected. I’m in awe of his skill 🙂
How’re you doing, Joanne? I have a couch almost like yours! Gorgeous photo of the observatories 😋
I’m doing well – getting a bit of cabin fever and hoping this cold weather leaves us soon. It’s pretty sad when -10C starts to feel like a nice, warm-ish day
No kidding! We get two cloudy, snowy days in a row and I get cranky. I can’t imagine what you all with ‘real winter’ have gone through!
Spring is coming. I promise 🙂
It will come .. of that I’m certain. I just hope I’m not a hundred pounds heavier by then!
Think I will go for a walk – the first one in a very looooong while. I’ve been following Theo’s lead all too often these days. Hope you are doing fine, Joanne.

Enjoy your walk, dear Maggie. 💕
Didn’t get too far! It was snowing and I said, “meh.”
The snow I’m prepared to tackle – it’s the bitter wind that’s ready to rip the flesh off my face that I’m not so fond of.
Yup. Me, too! I feel like a total unenergized slug.
It must be a contagion we’ve all caught!
yeah… a kind of blog flu… 😦
Theo’s not liking this Arctic weather and has decided to hibernate … when he isn’t trying to climb on my computer 🙂
I’ve said it many times … too bad we weren’t closer. I would take that walk with you!
Well. I have to eat my words. I walked all the way from my desk to the couch. Inertia. Gotta love it.
hahahaha!! I wish I could say I was accomplishing a lot besides sitting in front of a computer screen.
I wish that cat would relax a bit! 🙂 Hilarious Joanne.
I’ve learned a lot from that little guy 😉
Looks good to me!
Theo is a wise kitty 🙂
