Celebrating Has Begun

This is a special family edition post on my blog today.

With less than 3 weeks to son #1’s wedding, last minute details are being finalized, and the lead-up parties have started.

Krystal – Jordan’s long-time friend from university and his Best Woman for the wedding – hosted a small party this weekend at her home for close family and friends.

It was all to celebrate 2 very special people – Jordan and Dempsey – and perhaps to engage in some fun and laughs.

The day started off with pouring rain, but cleared up and was eventually dry enough for everyone to move outdoors.

There was eating, drinking, and more eating ….

…. a bonfire, s’mores, and silly games …

… a couple of short speeches, lots of laughs, and a few emotional tears.

Krystal is an amazing hostess, but she also had lots of help pulling this party together – her husband, her co-Best Woman, the 3(!) Masters of Ceremony for the wedding, and the wedding planner herself, Adrienne.

Although the wedding hasn’t happened yet, we know we owe Adrienne a huge debt of gratitude for keeping everyone organized, and miraculously preventing this unpredictable tribe from venturing too far out into bizarro land.

I hope you enjoy some of these last sights from this weekend’s party.

It’s likely that this isn’t the last you’ll hear from me on the wedding front.  I hope you’ll indulge me as I flaunt my proud mother moments on social media.

  1. Such fun Joanne! Everyone seems to be having a great time! This reminds me, now I finally am here, the wedding may already have taken place. The first one is always very emotional!! Enjoy it thoroughly, Friend!

  2. I was deeply emotional when my daughter was married in 2010 – Many soggy tissues! So I totally understand your excitement. Only a few more days now….
