I had intended to get back on track after a summer of minimal blogging presence, but the past week, like all the others before it, got away from me.
Meanwhile, doors continue to stockpile in my photo library.
So here I am scrambling on a Thursday morning to put together a door post before I rush out for a day of fun and frolic with friends (yes, that little bit of alliteration was deliberate).
My modest offering of doors this morning reflects what’s front and centre on my mind at some point on any bike ride.

Arriving late to the party, but not likely last, I echo Karen with “I’ve got nothing.” It has all been said. Maybe Norm can come up with a creative name for a new challenge and outhouses will become the next Instarage!

The problem with being late to reply to a popular blog is that after 43 comments in response to three photos of outhouses, I’ve got nothing. Oh except an ‘atta girl’ for that fun frolicking with friends instead of time at the computer.

“I’ve got nothing” pretty well describes me lately trying to write a blog post or comment. How else do I explain outhouses? 😏
The afternoon of fun with friends was priceless. Imagine 4 retired women in chest deep water playing water volleyball. Let’s just say there was a LOT of laughter – the best kind of day!!

I’d be worried about going in that last outhouse. Perhaps there really is something to what you can get from a toilet seat.

Sue, that is an EXCELLENT way of looking at it!! I’ll remember that the next time the guilts start rolling in. Dropping into bed half-dead at night after a full day of fun is the best feeling ever. I can always catch-up on blogging when I’m old(er) and worn-out 🙂

A fun choice for a doors theme 😀
I’m glad to know the one on the Petit Train trail was well maintained. Whenever I see one of these in a park or on a trail it always makes me think of the infamous “thunder boxes” in Algonquin park – not a pleasant experience.

Yeek – “thunder box” isn’t very inspiring. The vast majority of outhouses are scary places but on the Petit Train du Nord, it was just another example of what a wonderful experience this trail is for cycling.

Those are adorable, Joanne… for outhouses. I was brought up with one and have an affinity for them… if they’re clean and don’t stink!!!! Fun post. 🙂

The summer cabin where I spent a big hunk of my childhood also had an outhouse. Being clean, airy, and non-stinky are all pluses!!

The roundish one is quite unusual. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a non-rectangular outhouse before now. If I had to have an outhouse, I think I’d like mine to be round too 🙂

Love these outhouses (but I probably wouldn’t go inside)… so much nicer than the public urinals the just installed – without doors – in Paris. Enjoy your frolicking!

Without doors?! Or were they pay toilets and the doors slid closed only when the fare was provided?
I remember the first time we went to Paris many years ago and I was fascinated by the public toilets that self-cleaned after each use.

Very interesting. Outdoor outhouses (is that redundant?) always scare me. Not so much spiders but you never know what lurks in there!

I couldn’t agree more!! … although I do have a serious phobia about spiders. More than a few times I’ve opted for the bushes instead.
