New And Improved

I’m going to make a bold statement and declare that the Saga Of The Broken Collarbone has finally reached its conclusion after 6 months and 20 days.

Today I had my 7th followup with the Fracture Clinic and although the surgeon said the new bone needed to “mature”, it looks good and my range of motion is “excellent”.

Let me introduce my new and improved collarbone.  I call it my Mini Stonehenge …

Yes – I can feel the plate.  No – it doesn’t freak me out anymore.

I know I still have to return in 6 weeks for another followup, but I’ve been given a green light to resume my normal activities, with some minor exceptions.

Thank you all for your good wishes over the past several months and the followup queries to ask how I was doing.  I appreciate that you persevered through my whining.

I would do a cartwheel … if I could … but even I know it would be a bad idea to try and learn at this stage.  Instead, I’m just going to smile happily.
